The Golden State Warriors matched the best start in NBA history at 15-0 with Sunday's 118-105 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
The only teams before them to start a season with 15 straight wins were the 1948-49 Washington Capitols (Basketball Association of America) and the 1993-94 Houston Rockets, who went on to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy that year.
This also marks the Warriors' 19th straight regular-season victory, dating back to the 2014-15 season when they closed the year on a four-game winning streak.

Klay Thompson led the way for Golden State, scoring 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting, including a game-high four made 3-pointers. Reigning league MVP Stephen Curry chipped in 19 points (his lowest scoring total of the season) and seven assists, while Harrison Barnes added 17 points and three steals.

The triumph was nearly cemented in the opening half when Golden State dropped 64 points to Denver's 58. Even though just six points separated the the squads on the scoreboard, the Warriors' track record of scoring that many points in the first 24 minutes of games practically ensured win No. 15.

The Warriors will look to go an unprecedented 16-0 when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
