Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone will be without four key players when his team host Manchester United in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie on Wednesday at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
The four players are Koke, Yannick Carrasco, Matheus Cunha and Daniel Wass.
Koke joins Matheus Cunha and Daniel Wass on Atletico Madrid’s injury list, while Carrasco will miss both legs of the tie through suspension.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Simeone said, “Well, Lemar is coming back from COVID.
“Carrasco is suspended, Koke unfortunately, is not going to be with us because he’s got an injury.”
He added, “We have many other players who are looking forward to playing for this opportunity to show their ability. I’m excited about that.”
