Distance has proved no barrier for the friendship between Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi as the pair shared a meal together in the Spanish capital on Tuesday.

Barcelona let Suarez leave last summer, but Los Cules can now no longer win LaLiga Santander, and Atletico Madrid can.

It’s likely the pair will have discussed the small matter of the league title, and there is no doubt that Messi will be hoping Atleti secure the trophy ahead of Real Madrid.

Few partnerships have been as successful as Messi and Suarez’s at the Camp Nou, and they were integral to the Blaugrana’s last Champions League triumph in 2015.

Atletico pulled off a masterstroke in letting Alvaro Morata go to Juventus, whilst signing one of the best forwards of the last decade.

Barcelona decided he wasn’t good enough for the club, and since he has scored important goals for Los Rojiblancos, goals that could lead them to the title.

Once a friend will always be friend. This was the gesture that was shown by Messi and Suarez by sharing a meal together.
They both had good memories of winning matches and of a few loses together when Suarez was still a Barca player.
Both players would have missed themselves dearly for their off and on the antics. Messi would be thinking that Barca would have had a better season if Suarez was still playing for Barcelona FC. During their conversation Messi would have reminence that Barca would have been sitting where Atletico’s is occupying on the league table and even better sat if Suarez was still part of the striking force at Camp Nou.
With this gesture , Messi fans and Messi himself would easily pick Atletico Madrid to win the Laliga ahead of Real Madrid in this outgoing season
