InactiveAfter yesterday's defeat of Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp could be forgiven for getting a little carried away with his celebrations.
His Liverpool team dismantled the title favourites on their own patch, eventually thumping Manuel Pellegrini's star-studded side 4-1. As well as being a great performance, it could be a pivotal result for the Reds' season. Klopp's currently being heralded as a hero amongst the support; from his point of view, things couldn't be going much better right now.
Still, as far as Nathaniel Clyne is concerned, the gaffer might want to tone down his post-match congratulations just a tad.
It's not that Klopp's spontaneous outbursts of joy after a big win are unwelcome – far from it. The only problem is that his incredible enthusiasm can have painful consequences for his players. At least, that's what we're taking from this snap.
Clyne has posted an Instagram pic of his manager congratulating him after the final whistle – we think it's fair to say that the Reds' boss has reached peak Klopp here. While Clyne has gone to clasp his hand, he's simply slapped the right-back round the face in a show of manly affection. We're sure Nathaniel appreciated the sentiment, but this looks pretty painful nonetheless.
