LaLiga President, Javier Tebas has mocked Serie A’s finances following talk Lionel Messi could leave Barcelona for Inter Milan.

Ex-Inter president, Massimo Moratti, said he felt Serie A club signing Messi was no longer a “forbidden dream.”

However, Tebas feels the Italian outfit could not afford to sign the Argentine superstar.

“I don’t believe the arrival of Messi would solve Serie A’s problems, which are tied to high debts and insufficient incomings.

“I would like Messi to stay here [in La Liga], but if he did leave, it wouldn’t be the end of the world: it was said that, without Cristiano Ronaldo, LaLiga would have lost money, but in fact we made [money] – even in Portugal,” Tebas told a news conference.

Both LaLiga and Serie A are currently suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak.
