Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with James Rodriguez.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol reports that the Colombian has been told he is free to leave Real Madrid after 'showdown talks'.

Rodriguez has been heavily linked with United and the report suggests he has now agreed to join Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

But the two clubs are yet to agree a fee – and Real Madrid are reportedly holding out for £61m for the Colombian they signed to a six year deal in July 2014.

The 25-year-old Rodriguez struggled for minutes under new manager Zinedine Zidane, and although he scored 11 goals in 32 games last term, he made just 13 league starts amid strong competition for places and did not make the match-day squad for the Champions League final victory in Cardiff.

It is worth reiterating for the umpteenth time that United are understood to have no interest in Rodriguez.

A good move for United methinks.

That would surely be a great buy for United. The prospect of having Pogba and James in that midfield is so appealing.

Very true. That's lot's of creativity in that midfield. United would need to shell out a significant sum though to get him. They would surely pay more than the price Madrid bought him. Good business for Perez, again.
