Daniel Sturridge has declared himself “fit and ready to go” as he prepares to make his Liverpool FC comeback.
The Reds striker returned to full training on Tuesday – a month after suffering a knee injury which has forced him to sit out the past seven matches.
Boss Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to rush Sturridge back into action at Manchester City on Saturday but Sturridge says he’s desperate to help spearhead Liverpool’s pursuit of glory under the new manager.
Speaking at the launch of the Liverpool FC Signature Collection at the city’s Titanic Hotel, Sturridge said: “I’m fit and ready to go and it’s going to be a great time for me.
“It’s been great under the new manager. I’ve been back training for the past couple of days and I was training when he first arrived.
“It’s an exciting time to be at the club and I’m enjoying working with him and the style of football. It’s important for us to understand what he wants us to do.”
