InactiveBillionaire boss Roman Abramovich will splash the cash on a Victorian-style pool and sauna in his basement.
The Chelsea owner has been granted planning permission for the extension at his £110million Kensington mansion.
Abramovich appears to have rethought plans for his Grade II property and will upgrade his current pool with a an underground relaxation spot.
According to the Evening Standard , Abramovich had initially pulled out of the extension as he prepared for a planning permission verdict on the same development last summer.
The £28million development was set to increase the size of the property from 16,000 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft.
It was unclear at the time whether Abramovich was scrapping the plans altogether or altering them, with the latter appearing to be chosen.
Planners had initially told Abramovich that the French windows on his design were “overly grandiose”.
Concern was raised about the closeness of the extension to an 1846 stucco-fronted house.
The proposal note left outside Abramovich's home reads that he would like the construction of “additional subterranean accommodation”.
He was granted the permission back in December.
