In some unsurprising news given the state of affairs, Bayer Leverkusen has sacked manager Peter Bosz. At one point, Bayer Leverkusen looks like a formidable challenger to Bayern Munich for the league crown, but Die Werkself has faded badly of late and Bosz has paid the price for those failures.

Hannes Wolf will take over as head coach and Peter Hermann was named as an assistant coach to round out the staff for the rest of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen’s problem started all the way back on December 19th and never really got any better. After a scorching hot start to the season, Die Werkself lost to Bayern Munich 2-1 and since that point, has 4 wins, 3 draws, and 11 losses in its last 18 games across all competitions.

Clearly, the strong start that Bayer Leverkusen to the season had worn off and the squad was experiencing issues that Bosz just could not solve.
