Coach Daniel Amokachi-led JS Hercules were thoroughly routed by Finnish top-flight club and Europa League qualifiers RoPS 8-0 in a fifth round cup tie.

Despite the drubbing, Amokachi said his third-tier league team didn't put up a bad outing as they came up against a top team.

“After all, it was a good game for us. We played really well against a really good team. When playing Veikkausliiga runners-up and the Finnish representatives in Europe, the game's strength and speed will show that we are just at different levels,” Hercules coach Daniel Amokachi conceded.

However,  former Everton star Amokachi still saw the positives from the trouncing.

“When we play like this against good teams, we can know how much we should improve our performance,” he said.

“RoPS did everything right. They kept the ball when the ball had to be held and pressured us they needed to.

“I think this tells us that we played against a top team.”
