Do you know that Nigeria¡¯s U17 team broke thier own record and set a new record by winning the U17 FIFA World cup for a record 5 times. The golden eaglets have won 3 ofthe last 5 editions of this biennial tournament.

Do you know that Victor Osimhen scored 10goals in the U17 world cup, making the prolific scorer the highest goal scorer in since the history of the competition. He scored in all 7 games Nigeria played in the Tourney.

Do you also know that even before the tournament kicked off in Chile Osimhen was touted as a favourite to win the adidas Golden Ball, having scored 39 goals in 71outings for Nigeria at that point, and finished as top scorer at the U-17 African Championship in March. Osimhen named C0‹0te d¡¯Ivoire forward Didier Drogba as his role model and he lived up to expectations in Chile.

Do you know that the captain of the Golden Eaglets, Kelechi Nwakali, was included in Nigeria¡¯s provisional squad ahead of the 2013 edition, but was not named in the final squad that went on to win the title. The playmaker was the first to lift the trophy aloft after he shouldered the responsibility and kept a coolhead in difficult moments. He scored three goals, including two penalties, and provided afurther three assists, a haul that was also brought him the adidas Bronze Boot. He was also the best player of the U17 World cup. Do you know that even if you have a bad start that may even look like bad luck, or even ¡°near success syndrome¡± like some people call it, you can still come back and succeed. The eaglets missed a penalty in the early minutes of the game but kept their heads up and created opportunities to still get it right and even win the game.
