Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has said he will carry out a “ruthless” overhaul of his squad this summer.

The Gunners are likely not to qualify for Europe for the first time in 25 years.

They were sent out of the Europa League by Villarreal on Thursday and currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League.

Following a disappointing end to the campaign, Arteta is keen to revamp his playing personnel ahead of next season.

“This year is not year one. I think a project has its phases and I am telling you we are in a much better position today to be where we want to be very soon, if we do what we have to do. But we have to be ruthless.

“We cannot be crying and stuck on what we don’t have. We have to see what we do have and maximise it to get what we want,” Arteta said.

Overhauling the Arsenal team is not the best options. What does it mean to overhaul a team ? To overhaul a team means to change the whole team of players at once . Better still to disband a team completely and immediately put up another set of players together .
Arsenal FC just needs to let some players to go and bring in players who are fresh , discipline and have winning mentality. All coach Arteta needs to do is to sell like five players and buy another set of five players who are passionate and ready to compete for the club.
A total overhauling of this present team might take close to ten years to rebuild. The present team is not completely bad. They just need a little shake up and a complementary additional players . Also, they need to have a right motives to football matches. With this they are good to go.
